The official sale of the Seniors ticket starts on 11 November all across Hesse. The ticket will be valid only from 01.01.2020.

A proof of age must be provided once before buying a Seniors ticket for Hesse. This can be done, for example, by producing an ID card or the passport. Yes, a 65-plus annual ticket can be converted into a Seniors ticket for Hesse within the contract year upon request (product change). The change is made in such a way that the new Seniors ticket is issued for twelve consecutive calendar months at the price applicable from the desired month of change. The change request must be submitted by 10th of the previous month.
No, automatic conversion is not possible. Many sales partners in the RMV will actively inform the 65-plus annual ticket customers about the new Seniors ticket.

The chip card is valid for 5 years. In the case of a subscription, the customer shall automatically receive a new chip card with the Senior citizen ticket for Hesse by post after the expiry of the current chip card.
