RMV’s responsibilities
RMV is responsible for the organisation and coordination of regional passenger transport and for overall marketing activities in one area which covers two-thirds of the Federal State of Hesse, including the conurbation of Frankfurt RhineMain. RMV’s transport network utilises 153 transport companies. RMV uses the latest technologies to make travelling comfortable and convenient and is therefore a leader in innovative information and ticketing services.
Transport planning/infrastructure
RMV plans new routes and service coverage, drives the development of the region’s network of stations and secures the procurement of modern vehicles.
Regional transport
Regional transport is organised by RMV according to the maxim of “Efficiency, Quality and Safety” – from door to door.
Fares structure
The RMV fares structure provides for a standardised range of tickets, suited to passenger needs. Just one ticket is sufficient for the entire route on RMV.
Customer information
RMV communicates with its customers through the traditional print media, via electronic communications and in one-to-one dialogue.
Tenders/competition
In its task of commissioning transport services, RMV has a successful record in tendering Europe-wide for all services to be provided.
Commissioning of services
One of RMV’s core tasks is to commission, finance and timetable regional transport services from transport companies.
Quality management
RMV pursues a quality offensive on aspects such as punctuality, modern vehicles, cleanliness and customer service.
