To purchase a discounted D-ticket, you need proof of eligibility in the form of the Hessenpass mobil.
You can obtain the Hessenpass mobil if you live in Hessen and receive at least one of the following benefits:
- Citizen's income
- Housing benefit
- Social assistance
- or are an asylum seeker.
Specifically, this means: Persons entitled to benefits under Section 7 of the Second Book of the Social Code (SGB II), those entitled to housing benefit under Section 3 (1), (2), (4) and (5) of the Housing Benefit Act (WoGG), those entitled to benefits under Section 19 (1) and (2) of the Social Security Code, Book XII (SGB XII), who receive ongoing benefits under Chapter 3 or 4 of SGB XII, as well as those entitled to benefits under Section 1 of the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act (AsylbLG).
If you are eligible, you will automatically receive the Hessenpass mobil by post from your local office. You must present the Hessenpass mobil when purchasing the discounted Deutschland-Ticket.
Exception:
If you receive citizen's income from one of the following job centres, you will not automatically receive the certificate:
- City of Darmstadt
- City of Frankfurt am Main
- Giessen district
- Limburg-Weilburg district
- City of Kassel
- Kassel district
- Schwalm-Eder district
- Waldeck-Frankenberg district
- Wetterau district
- Werra-Meißner district
In this case, you will receive the certificate on request from your local social security provider.
