  • With a season ticket of the price level 1 to 6 and 13, you can also travel beyond the area of validity with the help of the connecting ticket.
  • It is available for adults and children (6 to the age of 14 years).
  • Starting location or destination of a connecting journey must lie in the area of validity of the season card; a common boundary stop suffices thereby.
  • Connecting tickets are only valid in combination with the season ticket for immediate departure.
  • It is a single ticket discounted for season ticket holders for the entire journey from the starting location to the destination.
  • The connecting tickets are valid in the coach class, in which the underlying season ticket and any existing supplement are also valid.

  • The following applies for VGF ticket machines in Frankfurt, HEAG mobilo in Darmstadt, OVB in Offenbach, RhönEnergie in Fulda and Stadtwerke Gießen:
  1. Enter the destination number of the fare zone to which you want to travel and press the “Connecting journey for the season ticket" button.
  2. If different routes are possible, a so-called “route selection screen" with a maximum of three alternatives is displayed. Now enter the number (1, 2 or 3) for the desired route.
  3. On the next screen, enter the price level of your season ticket: The numbers 1 to 6 correspond to the price levels 1 to 6 respectively, and the number 9 must be entered for price level 13.
  4. Your selection is now shown on the display screen: Type of ticket (for example, "Adult connecting ticket for price level 3 season ticket"), destination number and route ("via"), if applicable, price level and price. After you have verified the information, the fare for the connecting journey can be paid.
  • The following applies to ticket machines with a 10-key keyboard and user screen of the Hessische Landesbahn:
  1. Enter the destination number of the fare zone you want to travel to and press the "Single trip" button.
  2. If different routes are possible, a so-called “route selection screen" with a maximum of three alternatives is displayed. After entering the number (1, 2 or 3) for the desired route, the "payment screen" appears.
  3. Make a note of the price level of the single ticket shown in the "Single trip payment screen" and press the "Connection trip to the time ticket" button.
  4. On the screen that appears now, enter the price level number that you have just noted: the numbers 2 to 7 correspond to price levels 2 to 7 respectively, and the number 9 must be entered for price level 13.
  5. On the next screen, enter the price level of your season ticket: The numbers 1 to 6 correspond to the price levels 1 to 6 respectively, and the number 9 must be entered for price level 13.
  6. In the end, your selection is shown on the display screen: Type of ticket (for example, "Adult connecting ticket for price level 3 season ticket"), destination number and route ("via"), if applicable, price level and price. After you have verified the information, the fare for the connecting journey can be paid.

    • in combination with season tickets of the transition fare
    • in combination with supplementary long-distance tickets
    • in combination with day tickets and group day tickets
    • in combination with KombiTickets (combined tickets) with a validity of under seven days
    • in combination with season tickets, which do not include any entry of the price level or in case of eTicket RheinMain, for which no price level is stored on the card.
