From Wednesday, October 7, to Sunday, October 11, Frankfurt will once again - for the 78th time- become the world capital of ideas for book lovers and publishing professionals alike. New material for avid readers, readings, and author discussions along with the questions they raise about society as well as the Guest of Honour, the Czech Republic, promise fresh inspiration to suit every taste.
The easiest way to reach the exhibition grounds is by bus or train; additional S-Bahn services ensure a convenient journey.
Experience new products, trends and authors
On the trade visitor days, October 7 and 8, professionals can look forward to a wide range of B2B offerings, networking opportunities, and industry events. As a general visitor, you can expect exciting readings and live events featuring international bestselling authors and TV stars. The public days run from Friday, October 9 (starting at 11:00 a.m.), through Sunday, October 11.
Programme highlights & special topics
The Czech Republic will be the Guest of Honour in 2026. Under the motto "A Country on the Coast," 75 authors across all genres will travel to the Frankfurt Book Fair. In the run-up to this Guest of Honour appearance, well over 100 books have been published in new German translations since 2024.

Direct to the trade fair by bus and train
Traveling to the Book Fair by bus and train is particularly convenient. The RMV timetable information service offers the quickest way to find a direct connection. The "Messe" stop is served by S-Bahn trains and buses, while the "Festhalle/Messe" stop is served by U-Bahn trains, trams, and buses.
Additional S-Bahn service
- The S-Bahn trains will run with more carriages, thereby providing more space.
- On Saturday, October 10, and Sunday, October 11, additional S-Bahn trains on the S5 line will operate between Frankfurt South Station and Frankfurt-Rödelheim, stopping at the trade fair grounds (Messe).
